2021.09.18 10:05 Future-Professional How to survive Act 2 as Defect
Act 1 as Defect is a breeze by front-loading a lot of damage and pushing through as many elites and camps to max out my deck and runes as much as possible in prep for Act 2.
Act 2 I usually start on full health and then die very quickly due to insufficient block, to high damage enemies such as stabby book. A lack of strength debuff and lack of inbuilt weak debuff make it difficult for me. Frost providing only 2 block, or at most 3 with a non-upgraded defrag, doesn't help against enemies that do 20-30 damage per turn.
How can I get better at mastering Act 2 as Defect? I'm trying to get *enough* (but not too much) block in my deck, avoid too many power cards that don't scale well in Act 2 (such as Machine Learning), and focusing on AOE, but it's not working ... I basically need a bunch of luck to win it.

Until now I've been playing GC on my Wii via Nintendont with a Wii Classic Controller. I've owned a third party wireless GC controller for over a decade, but I lost the adapter, not to mention the left stick started malfunctioning some years ago. I've read many comments recommending the official smash GC controller, but is a bit too expensive, not to mention I dont even play smash. Technically I don't need one, but there is something wrong about using the classic controller for GC, not to mention the CC controller is way more comfortable (although the dpad sucks to high heaven...).
What should I do? Get the official controller, a cheaper 3rd party one, or stick to the wii classic controller?

I go to grad school full-time everyday Monday through Thursday and only in the mornings on Friday. With that being said I can only work weekends and the off Wednesday when the last professor decides to not have class. I also gave my schedule to heavily prefer working on weekends and only if absolutely necessary schedule me on Wednesday with notice in advance.
Come to present. I managed to get Friday off from work so I had scheduled my plan to get ahead on a fuckton of hw on Friday for next week. Nope. Manager asks me to come close because the person she originally scheduled had a high chance of calling off. I said maybe but hopefully someone else will take the shift... Person ended up calling off so now she was begging me to come in. Told her to ask others first and if everyone says no I will come in. Instantly responds that she had already asked all 8 other cashiers and they all said no. So I agreed but that I was not happy doing it.
Come into work annoyed because my whole schedule to do hw was ruined. Go into the warehouse and Manager is training a new assistant manager. We go to the front, and this is where my mood changed from annoyed to just outright pissed, she tells the asm that he can go home since she doesn't have any hours to give for the rest of this week... my shift that she asked me to take was hours that could have gone to him... so I just start giving attitude and an annoyed vibe so she asks me what's wrong. What's wrong!? Man I let her know exactly what was wrong. "You have me come in on the one Friday I managed to get off, which I could have used to get ahead on the fuckton of hw I have due next week, because you scheduled someone you already knew was going to call off. On top of that you let the asm go home when you could have given him the hours to close, but you didn't ask him which gives me the impression you didn't ask anyone else to close before bothering me. Even worse I have to open early as fuck tomorrow and I'm closing today. Do you understand now why something is wrong with me!" Her response almost made me walk out "You could have said no..." "If I had said no I would be the only one getting shit for saying no because supposedly everyone else you asked to take the shift already rejected it so because I'm the last person I'm the one that will get all the flack for it" "well if you had said no I wouldn't have pushed for you to come" "I'm the last person, if I don't agree to come you will make me one way or another. I cannot win"
The rest of the shift I pretty much gave attitude to every customer that came to my register. But most of them were regulars that know I'm going to grad school so they would make comments like "school getting tough huh hun?" "Don't let school stress follow you everywhere" etc. and weren't bothered by it. Manager tries to buy me candy from our store and mumbles "sorry for ruining your day but this is how it is for me all the time" I was quick to respond "I'm sorry I didn't agree to be a store manager whose life revolves around this job, I'm just a grad student who apparently is more reliable and has more time than the lazy fuck cashiers that only do one shift a week and complain about not getting enough hours" the glare she gave me almost seemed like she wanted to fire me
We close the store and she very quietly says "see you tomorrow morning" I will probably bring the same attitude tomorrow at the 7am shift since I'm writing this between hw sections trying to fucking catch up so I don't get behind on work but am already tired as hell. If you make me come in knowing damn well I'll be closing and then opening , on a day I was suppose to have off, I am completely justified in being a shithead at work because you couldn't be fucked to consider my own circumstances.
Tl;dr: manager has me come in to close 'cus no one else could work. This day was the only weekend day I managed to get off and had to come in which ruined my entire hw plan. Found out another employee could have worked which soured my mood to the max for the rest of the shift.
