2021.10.21 13:06 Lespaul96 May seem like satire but this is an honest, serious, question.
Has anyone else noticed that ever since you went to boot, your farts just smell different and so much worse? I’ve been in the fleet for just under 2 months now and still, every time I have farted since bootcamp it hits me and just has that “Parris Island” smell. I hate it.

2021.10.21 13:06 realityiswrong Is Proctor roof shield water and rain proof?
I live in a top flat in a old building that is having alot of work done to it, including replacement of the roof. Our windows are dormer windows and all the slates have been removed form the walls and for the past couple weeks the only thing covering them on the outside is a new layer of green fabric that says "Proctor roof shield".
It's been very cold and i can't afford heating much, but my main concern right now is its been raining very heavily (this is in the northeast of Scotland) and the walls inside feel damp.
I googled my title question but it just says highly water resistant, which I'm unsure if that extends to be waterproof from heavy rain directly hitting it?

2021.10.21 13:06 Docttor_Zoidberg KTV Paolo Sarpi 33

2021.10.21 13:06 KlemKaddidleHopper Hi folks…..quick input (sorta) question….C1
I do not have cable, nor do I live in an area where you can receive an OTA signal. Is there anyway I can make a ROKU or similar my default “live tv” source?

2021.10.21 13:06 Rahodees Who were the American Native intellectuals who dialogued with Jesuit missionaries, referenced in Graeber's book The Dawn of Everything?
I'm reading a review of the book, and the review contains the following passage:
The Dawn of Everything is framed by an account of what the authors call the “indigenous critique.” In a remarkable chapter, they describe the encounter between early French arrivals in North America, primarily Jesuit missionaries, and a series of Native intellectuals—individuals who had inherited a long tradition of political conflict and debate and who had thought deeply and spoke incisively on such matters as “generosity, sociability, material wealth, crime, punishment and liberty.”
The Indigenous critique, as articulated by these figures in conversation with their French interlocutors, amounted to a wholesale condemnation of French—and, by extension, European—society: its incessant competition, its paucity of kindness and mutual care, its religious dogmatism and irrationalism, and most of all, its horrific inequality and lack of freedom.
I may or may not read the book sometime but in the meanwhile, I'm hoping there are historians here who know who the "Native intellectuals" referenced in this passage. I would love to find out what I can about these conversations!

2021.10.21 13:06 JordamnK When did you last feel confident about a win going into every game?
Like the title says this is a discussion of how you've personally felt leading up to games and/or seasons. I've noticed over the last few seasons that I'm super iffy going into every game regarding how confident I am in the team's ability to win. I can honestly say I haven't felt confident about winning every game we've played, both OOC and B12 games, since the loss to Alabama in the BCS Championship game. It always seems like there's some way the team finds a way to clutch defeat from the jaws of victory in games they are SUPPOSED to win, but also pull off amazing upsets randomly (see '13 vs. OU).
Anyway, just a random thought about my level of anxiety going into each game. After the last several years of weathering the Strong and Herman regimes, I have given up buying into any preseason (or pre-game) hype about the team. Guess I'm jaded from getting my heart broken time and time again by the team (specifically the coaching staff in general). Here's to it still being hard to be a Longhorns fan. Hook 'Em!
