2022.01.25 20:06 trashcanbecky42 Should I buy an onyx with rune ore or chaos runes on my GIM?

Ive been doing a ton of corrupted gauntlet so I have over 10m gp, but I also have 800 rune ore that I don't see myself using for a long time. Should I just use the rune ore and save the gp for something else or will the rune ore be worth keeping for late game smithing? I doubt it matters just wondering if anyone has a recommendation either way

You have to get three outs. You can choose any pitcher in the history of baseball. Assume they are in their prime. Assume they are pitching against the best lineup in baseball. 3, 4, 5 are up next. Who gets the call?

2022.01.25 20:06 jonsey96 Family friends had me move halfway across to help start up company. fired me after I trained everyone up and got things running smoothly.

So this happened over the weekend. I work for a DSP in an amazon warehouse in the northwest. at the end of September I moved 100 miles so I could have a promising job(I'm 25 and fresh out of business school). I had a little over a years worth of dispatching experience and a strong understanding of how to handle the daily operations of a small company so when i heard that my boss was moving stations and starting his own thing I jumped at the opportunity. Well my boss needed me over to town and ready to work on October first, and after a month of begging for an offer letter they get me one on September 27th, 4 days before I need to be in town. From the get go i was on my heels trying to get my life under my feet but I'm young and ambitious so I said fuck it and hurried over finding a place two days before I moved in. On my first day I literally showed up in my u haul and dispatched from 6 til 11 after I had just packed up everything and moved it halfway across the state.
now for the working part. I worked 13 hour days 7 days a week for the first two months. The only day I had off was Halloween. After two months I start to train a particularly smart girl up on the business side of things, lets call her ass, how to coordinate with amazon, and how to dispatch. things were going VERY well. I don't like to toot my own horn but it was the happiest I had seen an amazon DSP work force. I brought in bonus structures, I engaged individuals by having them work a day or two a week either on fleet work with the vans, or cycled them through dispatching. We had a low turnover rate and everyone had/has a good understanding of what make the company profitable and how we earn bonuses. I was straight forward, didn't talk down, and always tried my best to make individuals comfortable. I received lots of feed back the last 3 weeks because I like to ask and make sure people feel appreciated.
Now for the back stabbing. Well it was two coworkers birthdays, so me being the team player I was I rallied the troops for a drink. Well I had one too many drinks and at one point started heckling one of the coworkers, playful stuff, and he was like back up or ima push ya and me being the heckler i am he pushed me. I was a little off put but we brushed it off, i texted him the next morning saying sorry and he said no worries it wasn't a big deal and that was that. shortly after I realized I should just go home because yeah i shouldn't be that drunk with my coworkers, so snuck out without saying by and uber'd home. don't think much of it the next day other than I'm hungover and its my day off. well i show up bright and early the next morning and my boss who I am extremely close with (known for 15 years) doesn't give me one second to defend myself and tells me to go home and that I'm fired.
Now here us the conspiratorial side of me coming out but I truly believe it. Ass went to my boss and exaggerated how bad I was that night, threw me under the bus to take my job and now that I have trained everyone up to where the company can run smoothly and I could take a back seat operations role, my boss saw this as an opportunity to stop having to pay my salary and get all the other people I shared knowledge with to take over my roles and have to pay them less. I always knew my boss was cutthroat but to have no sympathy or even hear my side of the story after i worked 90 weeks two months straight, uprooted my life and committed everything I had to get things up and running, and actually did a really good job AT MY JOB, it's fucking heart breaking. but hey this is the type of shit you guys preech everyday. dog eat dog world. be the nice guy and you get fucked over.
BUT heres the catch! my boss is hooking me up with the exact same job, with another DSP halfway across the state again! so he CLEARLY thinks i am capable of doing the job but is using this opportunity to save money and make me feel bad for it at the same time.
TL;DR moved for a job, worked 90hr weeks to help startup everything, got drunk at a birthday party, thrown under the bus by the person I had trained up the most and she did everything she could to get me fired. my boss didn't even ask what happened or ask other people who were at the event.
p.s. I know I shouldn't be drinking with coworkers, i learned my lesson, but still I think being fired was extremely dramatic and out of the n

2022.01.25 20:06 Mobiousjr 5 Ways Hot Tea Can Benefit Your Health

The benefits of tea have been studied for many years and some believe that it is a key to good health. For starters, it is a great alternative to coffee as it has less caffeine and usually requires a reduced amount of added sugar. Here are some additional health benefits from drinking hot tea.
“The natural compounds in tea may help with heart disease, diabetes, and cancer and it supports weight loss,” says Rachel Lander-Canseco, PIH Health clinical dietitian. “Drinking at least one cup of tea a day can enhance the tactics we are already implementing to improve our health.”

  1. Improved eye health. The antioxidants in green and white tea can help prevent serious eye diseases like cataracts and glaucoma. You may see an improvement in your eye health by sipping hot tea.
  2. Lowered risk of stroke. The chemical compounds found in black and green tea help support the vascular system. Researchers have found that drinking tea at least three times a day can lower your risk of a stroke by 21 percent.
  3. Better digestion. Tea is a good natural remedy to improve digestive health and can help alleviate other digestive symptoms. The tannin in tea acts as a digestive acid and is an effective treatment for indigestion, gas and constipation. For more information on digestive tests and treatments, visit Digestive Health Services.
  4. Sharpens your memory. Studies have shown that green and black tea may boost cognitive functioning. Drinking hot tea regularly can help strengthen your memory and keep it in tip-top shape.
  5. Controls stress and anxiety. Hot tea naturally has calming effects that curb stress and anxiety. Sit down and relax while enjoying a hot cup of tea and discover its stress-reducing benefits.
Bundle up this winter with a hot cup of tea. Whether you’re looking for a drink to calm a sore throat, or looking for a bit of caffeine to start your day, tea can be a great new component to incorporate into your daily diet....continue

I have ran RBST around 30 times and still havent seen a tank battery, only a couple decent weapon parts. And for the price i paid (2.4mil) i'll definitely get my money back but i really only bought it for quests and tank batteries... Dynamic loot seems to have kinda broken these good rooms imo.

2022.01.25 20:06 RaeWritesFiction The Minute Man

There’s a game that you can play which will see how well you can survive in a minute. But there’s a catch; if you do the ritual correctly it skews either your perception of time or time itself. Nobody really knows for sure which.
It’s called ‘The Minute Man’ and the idea sounds very simple; survive one minute. You turn off all the lights and sit in a quiet room and at exactly 3AM you light six candles and chant for one minute.
“Minute Man, Minute Man, won’t you play? Come in, come in, won’t you stay? Minute Man, Minute Man, we want to see, How long it really takes for us to be free.”
Then you open a door. Any door of any size.
Each of the six candles represent 10 seconds in the minute. If The Minute Man has entered, the flames will turn an intense red and will stay lit regardless of any breeze; they will extinguish one by one after ten seconds each.
Again this sounds so simple but the game messes with time in some way. Nobody knows whether time actually changes or you just think it does. So during this one minute; starting at 3:01AM time has the chance of passing very quickly, if you’re really lucky, and the minute will be over with and you’ve won and you’re free - though the chances of this are almost nil. However if you’re very unlucky time will pass excruciatingly slowly and you’ll be forever dodging traps, playing puzzles and working out riddles while working towards your objective.
Wherever you decide to play this game, and I hope for your sake you’ve chosen an enclosed space such as a house, it will go dark and the lights will intermittently short out, overheat or just cease to work. Flashlights are not affected by this as such but make sure you have batteries on hand in case it mysteriously runs out of power. The rooms of your house will seem to grow in size; your normal sized living room is now the size of a field, the stairs to your first floor are now never ending. Time and space are your enemy and friend - use them wisely and to your advantage. If you decided to start this game outside, then you may as well resign yourself to losing the overall game…
The objective, as well as playing his games, is to see the time.
You’ll look at your wrist because you always wear a watch and it will be able to tell you the time and hey presto done! But it won’t be there, your phone won’t be in your pocket, the clock on the kitchen wall will have no hands and the digital clock on the oven will flash with four zeros - no matter where you look; they’ll error or be broken, missing. The only way to see the time is by looking at The Minute Man’s pocket watch which he carries inside his dark overcoat. He’ll be clever at keeping it hidden, so to see it will need you to be smart enough to trick him into showing you - which, I’m sorry to say is almost impossible, I don’t care how much of a child prodigy you are or what your IQ is; he is smarter than you. Or you have to find a way to view the face of his watch without him knowing; I’m not telling you exactly how to achieve this… but mirrors, projections and misdirection have been successful in the past.
The point of his games, his riddles and puzzles, is to keep you mentally busy enough that you don’t have a chance to see the watch face. He will give plenty of opportunities to you, they’ll be fleeting but many and he’s relying on your lack of mental capacity to multitask to that degree. He’ll give you riddles with multiple answers to make you second guess yourself.
“The ages of a father and son add up to 66; the father’s age is that of the son but reversed. How old are they?”
You may be panicking but time and space? They’ll help you with clues. They won’t be obvious clues; the clock on the kitchen wall has a 15 minute section filled in. There will be 24 swirls on the wallpaper pattern. 6 lights on the ground floor. There will be clues; all is not lost.
He’ll play hide and seek with you; a simple childhood game in theory but this is no normal game. To an entity who can see all and be anywhere; how can you truly hide from him? The idea is to be creative and to remember that space isn’t working the same way as it should; there’s no rules. That couch you’re standing by? Try crawling under what looks to be only an inch gap. The cupboard under the sink? The pile of dirty laundry on your bedroom floor? Think outside the box. However… try to stay away from refrigerators, freezers and ovens… for some rather obvious reasons. Of course you could always try to play the clown and hide behind a long curtain with just your feet showing; The Minute Man does have a sense of humour, of sorts.
During these games you will age at a steady rate; if they take you twenty years you will age twenty years. Ten seconds really could kill you.
If all your candles go out before you see the time; you win (however this could very well take an actual lifetime).
If you see the time from The Minute Man’s watch face; you win (and though not easy, this is guaranteed to end the whole game returning you back to where your candles have now melted down to nothing and it’s as if only that one minute has passed.)
What do you get for winning, exactly? The Minute Man will offer to tell you the exact date and time of death of someone you personally know. You can of course decline without prejudice and that will be the end of the game. If you choose to take him up on his offer he will simply give you a date and time. For example - Wednesday the 13th of September 2045 at 04:26 AM. He will tell you nothing more; no name or clue to who this date refers and then the game is over.
So what happens if neither of these things happen? What happens if you answer a riddle wrong? Don’t finish a puzzle? Lose too many games of hide and seek? What if you die in this place?
The Minute Man gets to keep you. You’re now going to forever roam in the place that was created for the game. It’s your prison now and there’s no way of buying yourself out or trading your place with someone else; your new reality features rooms that go on forever, stairs that never end, a hunger you can never fill, a thirst so bad you could drink a lake dry and nothing to make it go away. You will never sleep, never pass out into unconsciousness. Whatever state your body was in when your luck ran out is how you now exist in this place.
And before you can get too ‘comfortable’ - this state of being but not - the minute man will carefully and meticulously erase every trace of you ever existing from the minds, lives, photographs, videos and phones of those you know and love, any person you ever met or waved at. Not one person will ever remember you in any way.
He will make sure you watch his work before leaving you to your eternity with 6 forever burning candles that never melt and a blank watch face that will never tell the time.
So let me ask you; do you have a minute to spare…?

2022.01.25 20:06 Treesawyer5 So…did anyone else think that…

Chuck was kinda the bad guy in the first episode. I get that the cannon guy was obnoxious, but he was also there first. How is it fair that Chuck buys land after this guy is settled there and then demands that he stops doing what he loved? Maybe Chuck should have spent literally one day on the land before buying it!
Also, while the cannon guy bothered everyone with his noise, he did also pay for police equipment and fund the fire department. I’m sure everyone had a good laugh that his cannons got taken away, but I’m not sure if they’ll still be laughing when they want him to pay for something and he declines to do so.
