2022.01.25 20:54 Key-River9002 New Sub + Amp install working but Subwoofer is not hitting hard at all?
I just installed everything over the last few days, and everything is working but I can’t figure out why my subs are not hitting hard.
They are dual 12” by MTX, so they should be able to bump pretty hard. The guy at best buy took it out and tested it and it was really loud. But in my car, it works but it is very soft like doesn’t rumble at all.
Anyone know what problems I could check to fix this? I checked all connections, power, speaker wires, ground, rca, remote, and everything looks great. Helppp!

As the title says, I'm weighing the benefits between 3 piece Tals and the other setup.
Right now I'm running 3 piece Tals but I am debating on saving up for CoH, Arach and Maras. I don't care much about MF, I'm more interested in survivability and damage output. If I want MF I'll swap to my Isted Baba. I'm also running HOTO, war travs, etc.
What have you guys found that works best for your Blizz Sorc? I pretty much just density/key farm for wealth generation and runes. So gear that improves that is key.

2022.01.25 20:54 Wildflower--Wildfire Lacan & Joyce correspondence, 1939-1940
From the correspondence Lacan-Joyce
On 2 November 1939 Lacan wrote to Joyce:
Docteur Jacques Lacan
3 rue de Lille
Dear Mr Joyce,
Thank you very much for sending me your ex Work in Progress now published as Finnegans Wake. You are right, I would have never guessed its name.
Your judgement of psychoanalysis is rather harsh, though you have put forward certain compelling arguments. But this is a delicate time for me. Since 1938 I am myself a Training Analyst with The Psychoanalytic Society of Paris. The intrinsic institutional politics involved in this move are indeed very boring and probably no different from the other church, the Roman Catholic Church. Still, as you may appreciate, this is a personal letter and in it I can be more open with my thoughts than I would be otherwise.
I finished reading Finnengans Wake last night. It took me a good five weeks in which I closed myself off from the external world in the company of many dictionaries, expecting rather naively that they were going to help me understand your book. I can tell you that I read it word by word, but I will not pretend that it made any sense to me whatsoever. Nevertheless, your jouissance in writing is palpable. Would this confirm the truth of T S Eliot's, that True poetry reaches us before being understood? I find this in your Finnegans Wake.
You know, my friends, Dali, Picasso and the entire surrealist group, they are kindergarten children when compared with the enigmas in your book. Your book is an enunciation in which the enunciated cannot be found, it is an enigma made book. I plan to use it in due time, in future teachings. I was taken by your definition of what a letter is. As you so well said, it is a litter. However, if so, did you publish to show that while the letter kills, the spirit vivifies? Thus to re-create literature in order to finish it off would be the logical conclusion following on from your alliteration of letter into litter.
Finnegans Wake is a magnificent and rare yield of your thorough knowledge of Freud's Traumdeutung. Yet, in your F W there is no dreamer other than the dream itself. I wonder; is this a confusion between Freud and Jung?
As you might know, Freud was in Paris on his way to London a while ago. I didn't go to see him in part due to the effect of reading your Work in Progress in The Little Review. I was hesitant to see him because I would have taken issue on the same points you raised, and these questions were still a bit premature with me.
Your criticism that we psychoanalysts still apply the old pressure of suggestion and paternal authority irrespective of what we might otherwise state, is disquieting. Actually, I have near at hand the paragraph in question. I will quote it: Be who, farther potential? And so wider but we grisly old Sykos who have done our unsmiling bit on 'alices, when they were yung and easily freudened, in the procuring room and what oracular comepression we have had apply to them! … These words put me ill at ease. They compelled me to jot down a couple of interrogations in my notebook:
What does it mean to understand, moreover when one has a métier that I have qualified as a swindle…
Our practice is a swindle: we take advantage making people blink, dazzling them with make-believe words, affected words, what you designated as puffed-up words.
In brief, I agree with you, but not without some qualification and conflict. Undeniably, you enjoy a freedom that I do not have, at least for the time being. Moreover, after I read you, I was impelled to re-read Freud's works on hysteria. I was left wondering, where did those marvellous women, Anna O, Emmy von N, those hysterics of the past go? Were they replaced by the psychoanalytic foolishness? Re-reading them, I came across Freud's Aristotelian Proton Pseudos but Greek conjures immediate respect and the deadly meaning of Freud's phrase is neglected. Well, as it happens, this is exactly what I wrote in French in my notebook: our practice is an escroquerie.
I cannot say anything of this in public for a long time to come. Perhaps the only person I could have told this besides you has already left Paris for New York. I am talking of Rudolph* Lowenstein, my ex-analyst of seven years, a Bloom very much like your character in Ulysses, but he would have hit the roof! Nonetheless, I can hardly complain of his good intentions, and he, being a Bloom, probably ignores that hell is paved with good intentions. But that is another kettle of fish.
Freud himself couldn't have said that he was educating swindlers. The most he said was of the necessity for the analysts to be literate, educated, cultivated, well informed and well read, and he did not have much success. This is why I maintain that analysis from the ethical point of view is unsustainable and I certainly feel ill at ease with this because I, like anyone else, have a Superego. However, I arrived to these conclusions after undergoing an analysis, and I wonder how you did it without having had an analysis at all.
Yours truly, Dr Jacques Lacan.
PS: * Reality has the structure of fiction. Isn't it funny that Rudolph carries the given name of the father of your character Bloom in the Ulysses?
Joyce replies on 27 December 1940:
Monsieur le Docteur Jacques Lacan,
Please excuse my delayed answer but your letter reached me through the good offices of friends in Paris a few days ago. I am still looking to settle in Zurich where we arrived in the middle of this horrible chaos.
I will refrain from commenting on psychoanalysis, yet I would not like to think that anyone finds pedagogical intentions in my Finnegans Wake, psychoanalytic or otherwise. In any case, if you choose to pursue it, you will prove F W right up to the hilt: Psychos, yung and old, have been thoroughly and truly freudened forever!
I am a scavenger of language and memories, and I wrote my latest book with jouissance, it is true, and with the full intention of having realised the dream of any writer; to have an ideal reader suffering from centuries of insomnia. Those readers, I firmly believe, will stem from academia, but concerning your ilk it would be very funny indeed if they were to be queuing after the academics! I wonder if they will do it à la Gogarty, that is, psychoanalysts among the literati and literati among psychoanalysts.
What astounded me most of your letter was your wondering about how I made do without having had an analysis at all. I rejected in the twenties the underhand invitation to be experimented upon by Herr Professor Jung. I addressed your question long ago. I did it thanks to not having had an analysis! Yes. I did it with the only arms I will allow myself to use - silence, exile and cunning. You will find the reference in A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man.
Yours sincerely, James Joyce.

2022.01.25 20:54 stickfist [Prose-in-Text] Saint Vetters: The Veneration of Angelo Moss
Hello critters! This is the first draft chapter of an abandoned nano project and I'm curious to see if it resonates with any readers, if it's worth going back to continue. Any feedback is welcome.
"Alright, let's see who the hell we're venerating. Angelo Moss, born 4059 ACE, died 4090 ACE. Huh. This says he was murdered. Well I guess that ends the claim. Mismatched cause of death on the application. So I guess this means we get to leave this dump of a planet?"
"Murdered might be an overstatement, but no less than martyrdom. It's worth digging deeper," Clive replied.
Heller sighed. "Married at age twenty to a miss—oh you're gonna love this—a miss Angela St. Marie. Angelo and Angela? It sounds like he married his sister."
When Clive didn't respond she dove back into the paperwork, which was exactly what he'd hoped for. Adding color commentary this early in the vetting process would taint the rest of the investigation but Heller had to learn that on her own. He hoped it would happen soon. If she stayed the course, the late Mr. Moss's true character would reveal itself.
They worked in silence for hours in the room, only leaving to take care of personal hygiene. On one of his bathroom breaks, Clive sent a message to his wife back on the Consecrant.
ARRIVED WITHOUT TROUBLE. WILL BE IN TOUCH AFTER THE USUAL FORMALITIES. XOXO CLIVE.
It was his custom to keep his messages short. Neither he nor his wife spoke in conspicuously loving terms anymore. After ten years of marriage, they had nothing to prove.
"Do you want to break for the day?" he asked as he entered the archive again.
Heller rolled her shoulders with her arms outstretched like a languid cat. "Yeah, let's get something to eat. I'm starving."
The old priest had already left the building by the time they ascended to the church atrium. Artificial evening light poured through a stained glass window from behind the pulpit and the pews glowed in spatters of reds, yellows, and blues. The design, a classic rendering of Saint Pertran slaying a horde of alien bees, had meant to inspire and frighten at the same time. That the universe did not care for humans. In the reaches of space where they'd colonized, mankind had found new and grisly deaths before establishing a foothold of life.
As advocates of the church, they had free reign to use the building as they saw fit. Like others Clive had visited, the western tower had been outfitted with dormitory floors for guests, acolytes, and refugees alike. Without Othos around, he presumed the tower would be empty. When the elevator opened and a woman nearly fell out of it, Clive opened his arms to catch her.
"What the hell?" Heller gasped. "She's freezing."
Clive lowered the woman to the floor. Her skin bore no marks but Heller was right, her body shivered. "Call a doctor," he said.
"No doctors, no clinic," the woman said grasping his sleeve. "I need Othos."
The two advocates looked at each other and Clive read her expression: last rites? The woman's eyes fluttered before closing and Clive opened his comm. He paged the priest and an ambulance.
"Are you going to deny her last wishes?" Heller asked.
"We don't know if that's what she meant. We have to err on the side of saving her life."
"But you saw her face when she said no doctors. She could be in trouble."
"She is in trouble. Right now. I'm sure whatever issues she faced in the past will can be resolved after she's more stable." He lifted the woman into his arms and headed back to the atrium.
The woman was light as a feather. Malnourished perhaps. Long black hair fell across her face but he had no hands to move them. He could feel her breathing through the cold and thin dress that she wore. Everything buttoned neatly, no sign of struggle, he thought.
Heller opened the double-doors to the nave and walked to the first pew. Opening her luggage, she retrieved a long coat and laid it down and Clive set the woman on it. Heller dialed the thermostat on the sleeve and the coat began to warm.
"What's going on?" Othos said from the Atrium. His face went pale when he saw the woman. "Holy Heavens, what happened?"
"She collapsed out of the western tower elevator," said Clive. "Asked for you. Who is she? Will she be alright?"
"Yes yes, she'll be fine so long as she gets her medication. Junior Advocate... um..."
"My office, Heller. You can run there faster than either of us. In my desk drawer is a wooden box about this big. Please bring it here without delay."
Heller dashed out.
"Who is she, priest?" Clive asked.
"She called herself Opal Garret when she arrived. No one in Paradise Rock by that name. As you know, we do not pry. All I know is that she was frightened to be found and sought sanctuary. I provided it."
"And the medicine she needs? Why do you have it in your office?"
Heller returned with the answer. The box contained a glowing blue vial and a hypodermic needle shaped like a spiral. "Othos, what the hell is she?"
"She's someone in need." The old man plugged the vial into the needle and carefully threaded the end into the woman's nostril. Each turn of the corkscrew slide the needle in deeper with a high-pitched squeal. He stopped when the base touched her nose then pushed the plunger.
The woman arched her back and an inhuman noise echoed in the church. Her wide eyes glowed yellow for a moment before her body relaxed again into the coat and Othos removed the needle.
Her eyes darted between the three people looming over her before locking her gaze to Clive's. "Tell me you didn't call for a doctor."
